Lil Jeb

Well not much to say, started drawing about 6-7 months ago. Not the best, but I really wish to keep working and getting better. I write Jeb, but all my friends call me Lil Jeb because me and my older brother have the same middle name :p


and these pics are not in any order what so ever, so some of em may be old or new.

anyone told you the story of bars and simples?

it goes like this..
once upon a time..
a little graffiti artist wanted to go out and bomb the city..
but he had to practise first.. he needed to understand the letters..
know what he was doing..
so some wise old men told him about bars..

each letter is constructed out of bars.. eg. the A --> /-\
you need to study the letters you need.. build them from scratch..
and then you start.. clean and simple like this: S A I K O
when you're able to do that.. you can go on to the following step:
SAIKO
when that's good, you can add 3D.. a whole new world will open!
when you got that down.. you can start to bend, shake, whatever you like..
and you'll become worthy to provide some grey walls of colour..

and when the guy looked up.. the wise old man was gone..
he went bombing the city..

haha i know about simples and bars, but idk really how to do em all that good and it just gets boring :p but any help would be AMAZING! like how to start doing bars and simples maybe?

you start doing this:
J E B

if it's helpfull, take paper with squares on it (you know for math)
make every bar same widht, length.. you know..
not very difficult I think
kick it off.. and upload some of them..
so we can help you further out..

i'll post up some help tomorrow.

I just started to write.. daily handwriting..
and evolve into more graff style thing..
but my tagging isn't the best in town though..

better then me mayne!

Think of your name as bars.. like ENOZ

then do one stroke of a pen for each bar.. but then you can change that around so that it looks better, like my E the back and bottom bar are an L, i do and L with two -'s

ahh i like the "A" but hate the "E" and "B"... but here it is

i hate B's.

if you dont like em, change em

The J is good.. keep at that, the E is decent, just watch the widths of the bars.. and the center - is not in the middle.

the B is your worst letter, i'm awful at B's aswell but if i was you i'd ditch it, its a pain in the ass and never really flows well unless its a S and C surrounding it. :L

i know, that "B" just killed me thank you for all the help enoz, but im gonna try and work on the "B" cause id like to get a good flow.

should i color or throw away and start a new?

you're not happy with it.; so start new

tip:
you have the backbone..
then you draw a big three 3..
you thicken it up and add it to the backbone

you just made yourself a B

start again.


no point wasting colour.
